Venti Energy is seeking a highly motivated first-year MBA student for an exciting internship with an early-stage, renewable development company. The internship will begin in January as a part-time position during the spring semester and extend through the summer on a full-time basis.
Venti Energy is a renewable energy developer focused in the ever-expanding U.S. wind development market. Venti’s primary geographic market is Texas, but several prospects in other states are also being investigated. As these projects are advanced through the various stages of development, the intern will assist in the process by:
• Inputting project specifics into wind analysis software and analyzing the project potential
• Using Gantt charts to manage individual projects
• Working with financial spreadsheets to develop project returns
• Communicating as necessary with landowners to keep them updated through the process.
In addition to the project management responsibilities, the intern will have the opportunity to conduct market research as Venti explores new geographic markets to approach as well as innovative technologies to address. Throughout the internship other strategic projects may be identified as well as miscellaneous tasks needing completion. During the summer period there is the possibility that some travel be required.
Venti is seeking a self-directed MBA student for this competitive and selective position. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in working with an entrepreneurial start-up, the ability to manage multiple projects and analyze business strategies and concepts, and excellent communications skills.
Requirements:
• Ability to manage and direct project development (prior project management experience is a plus)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong financial skills
• Ability to take initiative, define project requirements, establish action plans, and meet deadlines
• Market research and/or consulting experience is a plus
Salary:
An hourly wage of $15/hour is provided. However, the real benefits of this position include the opportunity to work with a rapidly growing clean energy company, make significant industry contacts, and gain valuable experience. If preferred, an independent study can be arranged for class credit in lieu of wages.
