PLUS Project: ATI

January 15, 2008 – 10:04 pm

The Austin Technology Incubator is working with the University of Texas’s Wireless Networking and Communications Group (WNCG), part of the electrical engineering college, to identify potential commercial opportunities for new start-up creation based on technologies being researched in the WNCG. The Plus team will work with ATI staff and interns (from the engineering college) to assess cutting edge technologies, scan the market for opportunities, and identify potential business ventures.

Ideally, the project will result in an initial pitch deck (i.e., the usual 10-12 slides used for investor meetings). Depending on the business ventures identified, the students, along with the appropriate members of the WNCG, could begin to commercially launch and pursue an opportunity this summer at ATI or use it as the basis for the New Venture Creation class.

The Plus project team’s main contact at ATI is a Texas MBA alum and former ATI intern, Bart Bohn. For more information, please contact Deidra Stephens, Plus Program Director, deidra.stephens at mccombs dot utexas dot edu.
