Steve Schaffer’s Bio

Steve Schaffer founded Vertive (site) in 2002 to provide search engine marketing services. In 2003 the company began doing affiliate marketing. Schaffer moved the company to Austin in 2004 and has been growing at a healthy rate. Vertive is now a leading performance-based Internet marketing company that works as a trusted partner on an affiliate and on a direct basis.

Steve is an Internet strategy and search engine marketing professional with 20 years of growth and success at start-ups and established Internet and consumer software companies. Prior to Vertive, Schaffer had over 15 years of experience in senior management and product management roles at companies including eRegCard, DayMaker, Power Up, and Symantec.

A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, Steve has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, and was the president of the University Entrepreneurial Association. Steve launched his entrepreneurial pursuits as a professional magician, Hocus the Great, when he was 10 years old.
