ES Connections – Save the Date – Thurs, April 1st 2010

From 6 to 8pm at the UT Alumni Center

ES Connections will give you a great opportunity to network with various Austin based early stage, growing, and established companies that are looking to fill internship and full time positions related to entrepreneurial ventures.

The event will be an informal career fair that will allow MBA students to freely interact with the entrepreneurs and company representatives in a cocktail environment allowing you and the firm to learn more about each other and determine if you and the company are a good fit!

Students should wear dressy business casual and are asked only to bring business cards and resumes. There is no cost for students to attend. Stay tuned for a list of companies to attend!

Start Up Meet Up – 9/12/2009

The inaugural Start Up Meet Up was a complete success! We were expecting 100 registered participants and we had over 200 people register to participate!

Highlights of the conference included our lunchtime keynote speaker, BazaarVoice CEO Brett Hurt, as well as the interactive discussions that took place during the law, market validation, marketing and funding panel sessions.

Gary Marino will share his experience in launching BillMeLater.com, raising venture capital, surviving numerous near-death experiences, changing business plans on the fly, and ultimately selling the company to eBay for close to $1 BILLION. VentureBeat.com did a great Q&A on BillMeLater.com shortly after their acquisition by eBay.

Moot Corp Celebrates 25 Years!

The Global Moot Corp competition, the “Super Bowl of world business-plan competitions,” will celebrate its 25th year when it unfolds Friday and Saturday at McCombs. Everybody is welcome to come and watch the action as 38 teams from countries around the world vie for the top prize. Above, Barry Kahn of the Texas champion Qcue presents his team’s e-commerce solution for helping event promoters price their tickets based on fluctuating market factors.
